Traveling to: Egypt - By Davy de Souza Machado

One of the trips I would like to take is to visit Egypt for its magnificent buildings.

When I get there, the first thing I want to see is one of the most famous sights in the world, the Pyramids of Giza. Located in Cairo, they are over 4,500 years old and house the tombs of the pharaohs Quéops, Quéfren and Miquerinos.

Another place that is also very important to visit is the Abu Simbel temple, which took about 20 years to be built. Right on the facade, it displays four gigantic statues which are very characteristic of the country.

The next place I would like to visit is the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It is one of the best known museums in the world. There are more than 120,000 items on display, including mummies, jewelry, ceramics, sarcophagi, and treasures, which keep the history of Ancient Egypt alive.

Of course, the Nile River would never be left out of this trip to Egypt, specially because it is usually one of the first things people associate with the country. There is a cruise line that crosses the Nile, allowing tourists to visit cities from Aswan towards Luxor and vice-versa.

But Holland is much more than the land of tulips or coffee shops. And taking a tour of its gastronomy and tasting typical dishes of its cuisine can be a pleasant and surprising experience f rom the most harmless and unusual dishes to those that will require a little more “determination” to try.
